Our goal is associate membership in the Competition Committee. The AMCU delegation met with the OECD officials

The tasks and achievements of Ukraine on the path to associate membership in the OECD Competition Committee were discussed at a meeting on June 23, between the Chair of the AMCU Olha Pishchanska, OECD Competition Committee Chairman Frédéric Jenny and Head of the Competition Division Ori Schwartz. The meeting was also attended by the AMCU State Commissioner Serhii Shershun.

For many years, Ukraine has been moving towards membership in the OECD Competition Committee, as this process is multi-stage and complex.

"We told our colleagues about the process of implementation of the recommendations given to us earlier by the OECD and they have appreciated our achievements. However, work in this direction is not yet complete. To speed up the process, my colleagues from the OECD and I have agreed to jointly develop a plan for further steps", said Olha Pishchanska.

Also, the AMCU delegation held a meeting with representatives of the OECD Department of International Relations and Cooperation: William Thompson, Head of the Eurasia Division, and Gabriela Miranda, Executive Manager for Ukraine. According to State Commissioner Serhii Shershun, it was regarding future opening and activity of the OECD office in Ukraine.

"The OECD is actively working on its future Ukrainian office participation in developing a plan for the post-war reconstruction of our country. In their opinion, the AMCU should also play an important role in this process”, Serhii Shershun summed up the meeting.

It will be recalled that a delegation of the Antimonopoly Committee is currently taking part in the OECD Competition Week in Paris. The event also includes a number of meetings with foreign colleagues and representatives of international organizations.
