On May 25, 2020, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine launched the Twinning international technical assistance project "Support to the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine in the further approximation of legal, procedural and case enforcement practices with EU antitrust and merger control practices."
The project is carried out by the European Union in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 700 as of 11.10.2016, and is implemented under the lead of experts and representatives of competition authorities of Germany, Romania and Lithuania.
The aim of the project is to harmonize the procedural and regulatory aspects of the work of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine with the relevant practices of the European Union.
Project implementation period: from 25.05.2020 to 25.05.2022.
The project is divided into three components:
Component 1. “Further alignment of the Ukrainian competition law with the EU competition laws in the field of antitrust and merger control”.
Within the framework of this component, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, together with international experts, develops legislation in the field of competition policy that would further contribute to Ukraine's fulfillment of its commitments under the Association agreement between the European Union and its member states, on one side, and Ukraine on other side, as well as other international treaties.
Component 2. “Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine procedural and enforcement practice”.
Within the framework of second component, representatives of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, together with international experts, work on the development and amendment of by-laws. This component also provides the possibility of carrying out expert advisory missions to the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine in the event that its employees requested to provide analytical assistance.
Component 3. “AMCU public outreach and advocacy with its key stakeholders and society at large”.
This component aims to raise the awareness of stakeholders and involved parties on activities of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, as well as to develop and implement advocacy and communication strategies. At the same time, within the framework of Component 3, in order to improve the communication skills, trainings for the staff members of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine are planned, as well as conduction of advocacy activities with business representatives and the public.
